Rounders - the Poland-Version
Hey Poker-Friends,
I recently watched "Rounders", the Poker-Film with Matt Damon. My assessment: A good movie and a "must" for all Texas hold'em players. The story is like you would expect in a classical Hollywood-Film, i.e. at the beginning the hero looses a real fat pot (nearly all of his money) when he hold a full house but trapped into a higher full house with 3 Aces. Then, he promised never to gamble again (remember Rocky II-VI: "I will never box again..."). Certainly, he gambles again - and, first, looses again. At the end: The big show-down. A great match: The turning point is when he recognizes a tell of his opponent and this time avoids to trap into the made hand. With a small straight he wins big and finally becomes a poker pro. Collateral damages: On the way he looses his girl-friend, his law-studies and his best friend.
Unfortunately, Mr. T gave me the version for Poland of the film, i.e. in the english language but with Polish subtitles. Since some actors mumble big and the loudness of the speakers strongly differs some parts are hard to understand if you are not enabled to read the Polish subtitles (whereto no one is enabled to besides Mr. T)...

it's loses, not looses. Single "o" version is pronounced like "loozes" Double "o" version the 's' sound like an 's' instead of a 'z'.
